On Friday, December 4th, 2015, at 3 p.m., Dr. W. Kent Fuchs will be installed as the president of the University of Florida, joining a small, illustrious group of individuals who have guided UF over the past century.
"A state that has catapulted to the top 10 in population in the nation in the last 10 years, if it is to reach its full potential in realms other than size, warrants a university among the top 10 in the nation."Robert Q. Marston, inaugurated UF's seventh president on Jan. 17, 1975
"This university will continue to improve if the people of Florida understand it and appreciate what has and can be accomplished here... It is here that a dedicated and extraordinarily qualified faculty teach, conduct research and render public service."Marshall Criser Jr., inaugurated UF's eighth president on Feb. 16, 1985
"Few universities enter the closing years of the 20th century with expectations so high, achievements so great, and a vision so clear as the University of Florida... the next decade will show whether we can make that success self-generating and self-sustaining... to confirm the University of Florida as a first-rank American University."John V. Lombardi, inaugurated UF's ninth president on Oct. 12, 1990
